Founded in 1971, Khukumoni has been a part of countless homes and cherished traditions for 55 years. In every Bengali home, a daughter is lovingly called “Khuku.” She is her parents’ Nayaner Moni—the one who fills their lives with joy, hope, and unconditional love. It is from this timeless emotion that the name Khukumoni was born.
The journey began with the vision of its founders— Mr. Srikanta Roychowdhury, Mr. Gopikanta Roychowdhury, and Mrs. Sandhya Roychowdhury. With a deep respect for Bengali traditions and an unwavering commitment to quality, they created a brand that gradually became an inseparable part of generations of families and celebrations.
Their vision was carried forward by the second generation, Mr. Pradip Roychowdhury and Mrs. Soma Roychowdhury, who strengthened the brand while preserving its core values of authenticity, trust, and excellence. Under their guidance, Khukumoni evolved with changing times while remaining deeply connected to its cultural roots.

Her world grows from one loving home to two, yet in both, she remains the same cherished Khuku.
For generations, Alta and Sindoor have represented much more than tradition. They carry emotions of love, commitment, strength, grace, belonging, and new beginnings. Yet Khukumoni’s story has never been limited to a wedding day. The third generation— Mr. Aritra Roychowdhury, Mrs. Riya Chatterjee Roychowdhury, and Dr. Durba Roychowdhury—now carries this remarkable journey forward with a fresh and progressive vision. While honouring the values established by the generations before them, they are expanding the meaning of legacy through innovation, inclusivity, and a deeper understanding of a new generation.
With the creation of SEVEN OCEAN, a sister concern envisioned for everyone, they have taken the family legacy beyond the boundaries of gender. Because traditions may have their roots in the past, but a true legacy continues to grow, evolve, and find a place in everyone’s life.
